Sourcing Coordinator

Our client, a large-volume home textiles supplier to leading national retailers, is seeking an experienced Sourcing Coordinator to join its New York sourcing team. In this role you will be the critical link between Sales, Design/Product Development, Packaging, and a global network of factories and agents in China and India — driving competitive costing, protecting margin, and keeping development and production on schedule for customers including Walmart/Sam’s Club, Costco, and TJX.

This is a high-visibility seat for a sourcing professional who knows the numbers cold, negotiates with confidence, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven wholesale environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales on product requirements, target costs, and forecasts; work with overseas factories to secure the most competitive cost by country and factory.
• Cost-engineer to target price, ensuring every quote accurately reflects the customer’s packaging, testing, and quality requirements before it goes to Sales and into PLM.
• Re-evaluate repeat SKU costing on a regular basis to capture savings from global market conditions, raw material trends, and currency fluctuations.
• Communicate daily with overseas offices, agents, and factories; join calls on China/India time zones as needed.
• Analyze factory capacity plans to confirm availability for all orders and reorders.
• Collaborate with Design/PD on sample development, follow-ups, running changes, and deadlines — owning the process from sample order through receipt in NYC.
• Work with Sales and Planning on replenishment and running-change deadlines; track and manage roll-out orders.
• Coordinate with Packaging to ensure packaging is available when costing requests are made.
• Participate in weekly development and production meetings across all customer accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
• 4+ years of sourcing experience working directly with overseas vendors at a large-volume wholesale or retail business.
• Hands-on experience in home textiles — e.g., kitchen towels, placemats, runners, chair pads, pillows, bath, mats, rugs, or pet beds (apparel background also considered).
• Proven costing and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage and analyze large Excel datasets.
• Working knowledge of trade regulations, product integrity, testing protocols, production timelines, and logistics.
• Willingness to travel overseas periodically and flex to China/India call schedules.
