Sourcing Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Sourcing Manager to lead sourcing, factory management, and product commercialization for a growing home décor business.

The role will serve as a key liaison between manufacturing partners across China and the U.S. Product Development team, with responsibility for identifying suppliers, developing sourcing strategies, managing factory relationships, negotiating costs, and supporting the commercialization of new products.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Supplier Development

• Source and develop new factory partners across China specializing in:
• Artificial botanicals
• Florals and trees
• Glass
• Ceramics
• Metals
• Resin
• Seasonal décor
• Identify and benchmark manufacturers based on quality, innovation, pricing, and capacity.
• Develop and execute category-specific sourcing strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing partners.
• Conduct regular factory visits to evaluate capacity and compliance.

Product Development & Commercialization

• Partner with the U.S. Product Development team to commercialize new products.
• Source new materials and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Ensure accurate execution of product specifications.
• Stay informed about material innovations, manufacturing technologies, design trends, and competitive products.

Cost & Supplier Negotiation

• Negotiate product costs to support margin objectives.
• Identify opportunities for:
• Material savings
• Freight optimization
• Packaging efficiencies
• Process improvements
• Drive annual cost reduction initiatives.
• Negotiate supplier agreements.

Quality & Manufacturing

• Collaborate with QA teams to improve product quality.
• Support product testing and certification.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and supplier quality systems.
• Monitor supplier performance, capacity, and compliance.

Market & Industry Development

• Attend regional trade fairs and supplier events.
• Identify new manufacturing and sourcing opportunities.
• Maintain awareness of U.S. home décor market trends and relevant product developments.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of sourcing or product development experience in China .
• Based in or willing to relocate to Dongguan, Shenzhen, or Guangzhou .
• Strong sourcing network across Guangdong Province .
• Experience with sourcing/manufacturing products such as artificial botanicals, florals, trees, glass, ceramics, metals, resin, and seasonal décor.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating costs and supplier agreements.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English , both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout China.

Preferred Qualifications

• Established network of manufacturing partners throughout Southern China.
• Experience supporting value engineering initiatives.
• Familiarity with U.S. home décor market trends.
• Experience attending and leveraging trade fairs and supplier events.
