Sourcing Manager

Role Overview

The Sourcing Manager will own end-to-end vendor sourcing and procurement for all product categories, including bags, apparel, camping/travel furniture, tents, sleeping bags, and accessories.

This role is responsible for identifying and developing manufacturing partners, negotiating costs, ensuring on-time delivery, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring Greenlands' quality and pricing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new manufacturers/suppliers across categories including bags, textiles/apparel, tents, furniture, hardware, and accessories.
• Develop and maintain a strong domestic vendor network across relevant manufacturing hubs.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and lead times to optimize procurement costs while protecting margins.
• Manage the full sourcing cycle, including RFQs, sample development, costing sheets, vendor comparison, and purchase order placement.
• Coordinate closely with Design/Merchandising teams to translate new product concepts into production-ready specifications and identify the right vendor fit.
• Conduct factory audits and visits to assess production capacity, compliance, manufacturing capabilities, and quality systems before onboarding.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery timelines, and cost consistency; drive continuous improvement through vendor scorecards.
• Work with QC/QA teams to establish quality benchmarks and resolve defect or non-conformance issues with vendors.
• Track raw material and component cost trends, including fabric, foam, steel, zippers, buckles, and other components, to anticipate cost fluctuations.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure supply continuity during peak seasons.
• Ensure sourcing aligns with the company's warranty and quality assurance commitments to customers.
• Maintain complete sourcing documentation, including vendor contracts, compliance certificates, price history, and product costing records.
• Support bulk and institutional order fulfilment and combo product sourcing in coordination with the sales team.
• Explore new categories and product lines as the catalogue expands.
• Continuously identify opportunities for cost optimization, improved quality, shorter lead times, and better vendor performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Textile/Fashion Technology, or a related field. MBA preferred.
• 48 years of sourcing/procurement experience, ideally in bags, luggage, apparel, outdoor/camping gear, or hard goods.
• Strong vendor network across relevant manufacturing and sourcing hubs is preferred.
• Solid understanding of fabrics, hardware, foam/steel components, and manufacturing processes for bags, tents, and furniture.
• Proven negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings without compromising quality.
• Strong understanding of costing sheets, vendor negotiations, procurement processes, and commercial terms.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems; Shopify or e-commerce supply chain exposure is a plus.
• Strong communication, vendor management, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Willingness to travel for factory visits, vendor meetings, audits, and sourcing activities.
