Sourcing Specialist – Mexico/US Territories
About Us & The Opportunity
We specialize in sourcing recyclable and secondary plastic materials from suppliers around the world for reuse within our global manufacturing network. We work with resin producers, converters, OEM manufacturers, recyclers, brokers, and other industry partners to discover material opportunities and build reliable, long-term supply relationships.
As our global sourcing network grows, we’re looking for a Sourcing Specialist who enjoys exploring new opportunities, connecting with people, and turning promising conversations into lasting supplier partnerships. Mexico is a key focus market, while sourcing opportunities also extend across the U.S. and other international markets.
This is more than a traditional purchasing role. You’ll explore markets, develop supplier relationships from the ground up, negotiate opportunities, and see the business you develop move through an international supply chain.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and develop new suppliers across Mexico, the U.S., and international markets, including resin producers, converters, OEMs, recyclers, brokers, and traders.
- Build and manage a sourcing pipeline through proactive outreach, industry networks, trade shows, and supplier visits.
- Qualify suppliers and material opportunities by reviewing capabilities, specifications, samples, photos, volume, packaging, quality, and export readiness.
- Negotiate pricing, volume, payment terms, and purchasing conditions to develop reliable, recurring supply relationships.
- Manage purchases from PO through shipment, delivery, and payment, working closely with suppliers and our Logistics and Accounting teams.
- Coordinate international commercial and export requirements, including Incoterms, customs brokerage, and documentation such as pedimento, certificates of origin, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
- Monitor open orders and proactively resolve material, weight, quality, delivery, or documentation issues.
- Maintain organized supplier and purchasing records and follow open matters through resolution.
What We’re Looking For
- Fluent English and Spanish required, including business-level written and verbal communication.
- Proven experience prospecting and developing new suppliers or B2B accounts.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with confidence in proactive outreach and cold prospecting.
- Working knowledge of Mexico cross-border/export processes, Incoterms, customs brokerage, and export documentation.
- Ability to evaluate sourcing opportunities using specifications, photos, samples, and supporting information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and experience with ERP, purchasing, or order-management systems.
- Self-directed, organized, resourceful, and comfortable owning opportunities from first conversation through completion.
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally; valid passport required.
Experience in plastics, polymers, resin, recycling, secondary materials, supplier development, procurement, trading, industrial B2B business development, or international supply chains is a plus. An existing industry network and a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field are also a plus.

Base Salary + Uncapped Commission • Performance-based growth opportunities • Health, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance • Paid Time Off • Paid Holidays • 401(k) • Business-casual work environment • Domestic and international industry exposure • Professional growth opportunities
