About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our team on the island of Nusa Lembongan. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will be his right hand in the daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service, consistent quality, and a well-managed team at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management and daily operations
• Take full charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
• Supervise, guide, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency across all dishes
• Manage stock levels, place orders, and coordinate with suppliers when required
• Control food costs and minimize waste
• Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP)
• Train and onboard new kitchen team members
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure during peak service hours
• Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
• Experience in ordering, inventory management, and cost control
• Passion for food quality and consistency
• Ability to live and work on a small island
• English required
