Sous Chef

**Hotel:**Legacy Airedale Hotel Auckland  Location: 380 Queen Street, Auckland CBD 
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent position.
Hours of Work: Guaranteed 35 hours per week, on a rotating roster, including weekends. Split shifts may be required dependent on operational needs.
Wage Rate: $34- $35 per hour

The Sous Chef position presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced culinary professional ready to advance their career and become part of a close-knit small kitchen team.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and direct food preparation and culinary activities involved for the service the hotel’s outlets.
• Assist the Head Chef in controlling food ordering and labour cost requirements
• Quality control and “final touch” of all prepared plates
• Undertake supervision duties ensuring that all kitchen employees maintain high standards of service.
• Assist in all staff and training within the Hotel kitchens and ensures that all records required by the Hotel are maintained to established standards.
• Any additional duties reasonably required by Head Chef or General Manager.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a commercial kitchen environment, with 1-2 years in a senior kitchen role preferred.
• Sous Chef experince required.
• A NZ Certificate (Level 4, or higher qualification) in Cookery.
• A current Food Handling Certificate
• A current First Aid certificate
• Flexible and available to work mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and in writing)
