Sous Chef

About the role

We are preparing to launch a new Korean restaurant in SCBD, Jakarta Selatan, and we are looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our opening team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
• Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency
• Lead and supervise the kitchen team during service
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards
• Assist with menu preparation, recipe standardization, and kitchen SOP
• Control food preparation, portioning, and kitchen efficiency
• Support training and development of kitchen staff
• Contribute to a successful restaurant opening and operational setup

About you

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership position
• Experience in Korean cuisine is highly preferred
• Experience in premium restaurant / upscale dining is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Korean food preparation, ingredients, and cooking techniques
• Able to manage kitchen operations, food quality, hygiene, and consistency
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Good communication, discipline, and attention to detail
• Willing to be involved in pre-opening preparation and kitchen setup
