Sous Chef — Sugo, Tauranga

Sugo is looking for a sous chef to join our kitchen on Wharf Street in Tauranga's CBD. Sugo is a vibrant Italian-inspired restaurant, we pride ourselves on offering a seasonal menu that highlights the best local produce.

Since opening in November 2020, Sugo has become one of the Bay of Plenty’s top dining destinations. We've been featured in Cuisine magazine, listed in the Good Food Guide and with almost 6 years trading under our belts we have established ourselves in The Bay of Plenty dining scene. What you'll do

• Run the pass and lead the line alongside our head chef
• Hold the standard on prep, plating and consistency, service after service.
• Help train and bring the best out of the team
• Take ownership of sections, ordering and stock when needed
• Step up and run the kitchen on the head chef's days off
• Be proactive, yet unafraid to ask questions.

Who you are

• A few years in a busy kitchen, ideally with Italian experience
• Calm under pressure and genuinely good with people
• Proud of your food and tidy in your systems
• Reliable, keen to learn, and in it for the long run
