Sous Chef

Khâluna is a new Southeast Asian Restaurant by Chef/Owner Ann Ahmed, opening in Minneapolis in the Fall of 2021. We are very excited to start building our leadership team.

Sous Chef

Chef Responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus, preparing high-quality dishes, delegating tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely fashion, and maintaining and holding a high sanitation standard.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

-Setting up the kitchen with utensils and equipment

-Studying recipes and gathering all necessary ingredients

-Preparing food in a timely fashion

-Delegating tasks to kitchen staff

-Keeping FOH informed about daily specials and menu availability

-Ensuring appealing plate presentation

-Supervising cooks and assisting as needed

-When necessary and able, modify recipes to meet customer’s needs & requests

-Monitor food stock, food freshness and place orders

-Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients

-Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
