Sous Chef

We are seeking a skilled and passionate sous chef to join our team at the Spinner’s Rest in Ancoats. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all food safety standards are met. Working closely with the Headchef, and covering their days off. Shifts range from 10am-8pm, £15 an hour.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to specified recipes and standards
• Assist in meal preparation, ensuring consistency and presentation quality
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
• Monitor ingredients stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment
• Support the team during service hours, including plating and garnishing dishes
• Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including proper handling of food and equipment
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
• Previous restaurant or culinary experience is preferred
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Pay: £15.00 per hour
