About the role :-

IF ONLY serves modern Australian cuisine made with care. We're looking for a creative, responsible Sous Chef who takes pride in their craft, enjoys working with a team and is always willing to learn.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service.
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste and presentation.
• Contribute ideas for new dishes, specials and menu development.
• Guide junior team members through clear instructions and hands-on support.
• Coordinate preparation and kitchen stations to keep the team organised and ready for service.
• Monitor stock, storage and ingredient freshness, while managing portions and reducing waste.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Take ownership of problems and work with the team to resolve them.

About you

• Relevant kitchen experience, ideally as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready for the next step.
• Creative and curious about ingredients, flavours and cooking techniques.
• Responsible, dependable and attentive to detail.
• Willing to learn, open to feedback and committed to improving.
• A supportive team player who leads by example and treats others with respect.
• Able to stay calm, communicate clearly and make sound decisions during busy service.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
