Sous Chef

About the role

We are a new restaurant looking for a hands-on Kitchen Head to join our opening team. We are focused on high-quality burgers, modern bar food, appetizers and sharing mezes/tapas with Mediterranean influence. We are looking for someone with strong culinary fundamentals who can run the kitchen while also helping us develop, test and improve our menu.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day kitchen operations
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste and presentation
• Develop and test new dishes and recipes
• Create standardized recipes, portions and preparation methods
• Train and supervise kitchen staff
• Manage prep, stock, hygiene and kitchen organization
• Help control food costs and minimize waste

About you

• Formal culinary education or professional culinary training
• Several years of professional kitchen experience
• Strong cooking fundamentals and knowledge of ingredients and techniques
• Experience developing or improving recipes
• Comfortable working with burgers, appetizers, fried foods, dips, sauces, tapas/meze
• Understanding of food costing and portion control
• Strong food-safety and kitchen-organization standards
• Able to lead and train a small kitchen team
• Creative, reliable and hands-on
