What they need
An exciting opportunity to be part of the next chapter for The Millhouse Restaurant.
The Millhouse has recently been added to the Michelin Guide, and with our sights firmly set on the future, we’re looking for an ambitious and talented Sous Chef to join our team and help us take the restaurant to the next level.
Proudly Awarded New Zealand’s Leading Resort at the 2025 World Travel Awards
Overview
Set on 650 acres of lush green fairways, rolling hills and gentle streams, Millbrook Resort is an internationally acclaimed luxury lifestyle resort, and we are proud to be an employer of choice within New Zealand.
This role is based specifically within The Millhouse Restaurant, which is entering a really exciting new chapter. Currently undergoing a refurbishment ahead of reopening in February, Millhouse will return with a brand-new kitchen and the potential for a new concept.
Our Head Chef has big ambitions for Millhouse, with the goal of working towards becoming a Michelin-starred restaurant, and we’re looking for a Sous Chef who is excited by that journey and wants to play a key part in it.
The Role
This is much more than stepping into an established Sous Chef position. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in shaping what Millhouse becomes, from the new kitchen and food offering through to the overall concept and ways of working.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a new concept, but with the backing of an established luxury resort. It’s a chance for someone who wants to bring ideas, creativity and energy, work closely with our Head Chef and genuinely make their mark on the restaurant.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about exceptional food and quality ingredients, but equally someone who is ambitious, collaborative and excited about building something special.
