The Flying Horse is a premium gastro pub at the heart of Bedfordshire, known for exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a refined yet relaxed dining experience. We pride ourselves on seasonal menus, quality British produce, and a kitchen culture that values creativity, consistency, and teamwork.

We are now looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our passionate kitchen team.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards, and helping to lead and inspire the brigade.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
• Maintaining exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency
• Leading, motivating, and training junior chefs
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and stock control standards are met
• Assisting with ordering, GP control, and waste management

About You

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a gastro pub or quality restaurant
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Calm and organised under pressure
• A team player with a positive, professional attitude
