Sous Chef

Sunflower Gramercy, an established brunch cafe, is looking for a talented, motivated, and creative Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

We’re seeking someone who is passionate about food, has strong cooking skills, and is eager to grow into a leadership position.

Our cafe is open from 7am to 5pm daily.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside our cooks in a fast-paced brunch kitchen.
• Work together and be in communication with the owner on running the kitchen & BOH
• Supervise and motivate the BOH staff. Promoting a positive team environment.
• Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Contribute creative ideas for menu improvements seasonal specials, bettering recipes / prep
• Help maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and efficiency.
• Manage inventory. Minimising food waste. Overseeing / managing prep.

Qualifications:

• Professional cooking experience required; brunch experience preferred.
• Culinary education is a plus, but not required.
• Strong work ethic, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to be a Leader/Captain.
• Being creative and being able to craft unique dishes for brunch.

We offer creative freedom, and the opportunity to grow into a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef position.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
