Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Spanish Interpreter to facilitate communication between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations, ensuring accurate and confidential interpretation services within a hospital setting. This role is vital in providing support to patients, enhancing their experience, and ensuring they receive the necessary care.

Responsibilities

• Interpret conversations between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers in real-time.
• Translate medical records and documents accurately to ensure clear communication.
• Assist in the understanding of medical terminology for both patients and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Provide support in social work settings as needed, facilitating communication between clients and social workers.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes through effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus (multilingual).
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare settings.
• Experience interpreting or translating in a hospital environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Ability to interpret complex conversations accurately while remaining neutral.
• Experience or training in social work is beneficial but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
