The Role

You will handle inbound interpretation calls during your scheduled availability blocks, interpreting between English and Spanish in medical, legal, and community settings.

• Provide accurate, complete, and neutral consecutive interpretation
• Maintain strict confidentiality and follow HIPAA and industry protocols on every call
• Uphold professional interpreter ethics and standards of practice
• Honor your committed schedule consistently

What we are looking for

• Full professional fluency in English and Spanish
• At least 1 year of professional interpreting experience, with medical, legal, or community settings preferred
• Strong consecutive skills and command of industry terminology in both languages
• Professional demeanor and sound judgment under pressure
• Authorized to work in the United States

This role is built for interpreters who already have call experience. If you are newer to the field, we encourage you to gain experience and reapply.

Equipment and workspace

Interpreters supply their own equipment. We do not provide hardware, and there is no equipment fee, deposit, or purchase required through us at any point.

Computer

• Windows 10, Windows 11, or macOS
• Intel i3, i5, or i7, 6th generation or newer, or AMD equivalent
• Minimum 8 GB RAM

Internet

• Wired ethernet connection. Wifi does not meet our call quality standard.
• Minimum 6 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload
• Latency under 150 ms

Headset

• USB headset with an active noise-cancelling microphone
• Monaural or binaural are both accepted
• No wireless or Bluetooth headsets
• No earbuds or headsets with an in-line cord microphone

Browser

• Latest version of Google Chrome. Our platform is supported on Chrome only.

Workspace

• Quiet, private space with minimal background noise

Schedule and pay

• $18.00 per hour, W2, with taxes withheld and standard payroll processing
• Availability blocks scheduled in advance, so you know your hours ahead of time

• Fully remote

We also engage a small number of experienced interpreters as 1099 contractors on a per-minute basis for overflow coverage. If that suits you better than employment, mention it in your application.
