Spanish-Speaking Emergency First Aid Trainer

We are looking for a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking trainer to join our team, someone with a background, experience and skills along at least some of the following lines:

• Required: Emergency first aid, combat medicine, firefighter or emergency medicine (RN/EMT) experience
• Required: Fluency in Spanish and English
• Interest in training and public speaking
• Interest in self-defense
• Interest in women’s empowerment

You do not have to have experience in all of these areas, but you do need to have experience and training in emergency first aid. Having some background in at least two, along with an interest in the rest, would do. We would train you in any skills that you do not already have that we would need you to train.

We would prefer a native Spanish speaker, although if you are conversant and intelligible in Spanish, enough to teach a class to Spanish speakers without the need for translation, that would also work. Speaking other languages, including French or Arabic, would be a bonus.

This is a part-time position that would involve assisting us in providing periodic training in the Washington, D.C. area and other locations in the United States, and at various locations including Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guatemala, and other countries. This role has the potential to evolve into a full-time position.

You do not have to be based in the Washington, DC area but we would prefer it.

Prior experience is less important that aptitude. Certifications are less important than attitude. If you are the kind of person who has experience operating under pressure or in crisis situations and if you have the skills to command a room and keep trainees engaged, we will work with you to get you up to speed to our standards of training in any areas that you currently lack.

You would be joining an eclectic of team of top-level trainers with diverse backgrounds and nationalities with experience in elite military operations, emergency first-aid, self-defense, journalism and human rights.

Our clients include journalists, humanitarians and others operating in high-risk environments both at home and overseas. This would be unlike any other job you have ever had.
