SPECIAL EDUCATION - 1:1 TEACHING ASSISTANT

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaboration and communication with administration and staff on behalf of students success
• Support students academic, emotional and behavioral needs as indicated by their IEPs
• Provide the teacher with information about students that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiences
• Knowledge of de-escalation and self-management strategies and implementation and the willingness to obtain and employ Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training.
• Data collection and implementation of behavior plans.
• Assist with related instructional work as required
• Maintain instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records (e.g. lessons, attendance, pencils, paper, teaching supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing written reports, or meeting mandated requirements
• Performs general tasks for the purpose of helping the teacher get instructional materials ready
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS: Must hold a valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certification

Pay: $23,101.00 - $36,756.00 per year
