Special Education Classroom Assistant

Duties

• Assist classroom leaders in implementing individualized programs (IEPs) tailored to each clients unique needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities
• Support clients during instructional activities
• Provide physical assistance and behavioral support to clients requiring additional help with mobility, behavior management, or daily routines
• Help maintain a positive classroom environment through behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques
• Collaborate with administrative team to complete progress reports
• Assist in lesson planning, classroom support activities, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information related to student records and progress

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older

• Prior experience supporting students with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable
