TITLE: Special Education Paraeducator, 27.5 hours/week

LOCATION: Reed Intermediate School

START DATE: Immediately

SALARY/BENEFITS: Wage placement in accordance with the Paraeducators' Contract. New hire rate is

$19.76per hour, $20.26 per hour with BA/BS degree. Benefits include district provided no-cost life insurance,

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Work under the direction of special education teacher(s) to support individuals and/or small student groups

in all areas of academics

 Positively support the development of social-emotional skills

 Implement behavior support strategies and collect data, as needed

 Support student use of various learning strategies

 Support independent living skills, as needed

 Assist teacher(s) with classroom tasks

 Assist in other reasonable and various capacities, as needed

 Specific duties will vary based on grade level, content area, and student needs

SKILLS REQUIRED:

 Ability to assist in classroom instruction to support student learning

 Ability to follow through on direction(s)

 Ability to establish positive rapport with students

 Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times

 Possess strong teamwork and communication skills

 Ability to remain calm, neutral, and patient

 Adapt easily to change

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have completed the equivalent of 2 years of study at an institution of higher education, OR earned an

Associate’s Degree (or higher), OR attained a passing score on the ETS ParaPro Pathways Assessment

(information linked here)
