Special Education Teacher

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), foster inclusive classroom environments, and collaborate with families and professionals to promote student success. Duties

• Develop, implement, and regularly update personalized IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals
• Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development, instructional modifications, and educational technology integration
• Manage classroom behavior effectively using evidence-based behavior management strategies for students with special needs
• Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, counselors, and other professionals to support comprehensive student development
• Conduct assessments, progress monitoring, and standardized testing to evaluate student achievement and inform instruction
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians through meetings, reports, and updates to foster strong home-school partnerships
• Provide early intervention services and support for children in preschool or early childhood education settings

Skills

• Proven experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities
• Strong knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and instructional modifications
• Excellent communication skills for effective parent-teacher collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Classroom management expertise tailored to diverse learners with behavioral health needs
• Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction, and science concepts suitable for elementary school students
• Ability to incorporate educational technology tools into daily lessons to enhance learning outcomes
• Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders and implementing behavioral therapy techniques
• Childcare experience in preschool or early childhood settings such as Montessori or private schools
• Skills in proofreading educational materials and speech therapy techniques when applicable
• Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and tutoring strategies for diverse learners
