Our Conductive Education model brings together physical, cognitive, social, and educational development to help the individuals we serve build skills, independence, and confidence.

We operate programs in Winter Park and Longwood, Florida and are looking for an educator who enjoys individualized instruction, small-group teaching, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

What This Position Looks Like

This is a hands-on teaching position in a highly individualized educational environment. Our teachers work with small groups of approximately 6–7 students, as well as students individually when appropriate.

The Special Education Teacher develops and delivers educational programming based on each student's developmental level and individual needs. Instruction is differentiated to promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth while incorporating CECO's Conductive Education approach.

  • Establish and implement goals addressing physical, cognitive, social, and educational development
  • Incorporate Conductive Education principles into classroom instruction
  • Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and guide instructional decisions
  • Complete attendance records, progress reports, and required documentation
  • Use appropriate classroom and behavior-management strategies, including positive redirection
  • Collect behavioral data and participate in Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and behavior-plan development and implementation when appropriate
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities
  • Provide basic caregiving support as needed

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • ESE Endorsement
  • Experience providing small-group and/or one-on-one instruction
  • Classroom-management, behavior-management, and assessment skills
  • The ability to modify and adapt instruction for students at different developmental levels
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills

A Florida Professional Teaching Certificate (PreK–3) is preferred.

American Sign Language (ASL) is also preferred.

Preferred Experience

1–3 years of teaching experience working with children with diverse disabilities and behavioral needs is preferred.
