Special Educator

We are looking for a qualified and compassionate Special Educator to support and teach children with disabilities and special educational. The candidate should be capable of supporting students with visual impairment (blindness or low vision), hearing impairment, intellectual disabilities, autism and other learning needs, using suitable teaching methods and assistive learning tools.

Work Role:

• Provide individual and small-group teaching support to students with disabilities.
• Adapt teaching materials and classroom activities according to students' learning needs.
• Support students with visual impairment using Braille, large-print materials and accessible learning resources, where qualified.
• Support students with hearing impairment using visual aids, written instructions and Indian Sign Language (ISL), where qualified.
• Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) in coordination with teachers and parents.
• Help students participate in classroom lessons, examinations and school activities.
• Monitor students' academic progress and maintain individual progress records.
• Coordinate with classroom teachers, parents, counsellors and relevant professionals.
• Recommend suitable assistive devices and accessible learning materials.
• Promote inclusion, independence, confidence and equal learning opportunities for all students.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of inclusive education and disability-specific teaching methods.
• Ability to support students with visual, hearing, intellectual, developmental or learning disabilities.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and accessible teaching resources.
• Patience, empathy, strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to prepare individual learning plans and track student progress.
• Relevant experience in a special school or inclusive educational setting preferred.

Work Location: In person
