Special Projects Superintendent

Overview

Ace Land Management is hiring immediately for a Special Projects Manager to lead reclamation and specialty land management projects. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is comfortable operating heavy equipment, managing a field crew, and taking ownership of a project from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader who can work independently, solve problems in the field, and isn't afraid to get in the equipment and work alongside their crew.

Duties

• Manage and oversee reclamation and special projects from mobilization through completion
• Lead and direct field crews of approximately 5–15 employees
• Operate skid steers, excavators, and other heavy equipment
• Communicate project progress, issues, and needs to management
• Maintain a clean and organized job site
• Ensure company safety procedures and project requirements are followed
• Travel to project locations as needed

Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel is required. (We are currently working in Danville, VA) Our reclamation and special projects may take place outside of our normal service area, so candidates must be comfortable working away from home when projects require it.

Qualifications

• Previous experience leading or supervising construction, reclamation, landscaping, environmental, or similar field crews
• Experience operating skid steers and excavators
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage a crew of 5–15 employees
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Ability and willingness to travel for work
• Reliable transportation to and from the company's primary work location

Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
