Specialist Palliative Care Nurse

Are you an experienced Specialist Palliative Care Nurse or Registered Nurse with a passion for providing compassionate, person-centred palliative care?

Ballarat Hospice Care is seeking compassionate Specialist Palliative Care Nurses and Registered Nurses to join our specialist, home-based palliative care team.

This role supports people living with life-limiting illness, along with their families and carers, to receive high-quality, person-centred care in the comfort of their own home.

About the role

You will provide community-based palliative care through nursing assessment, care planning, symptom support, clinical review and coordinated care. You will work as part of a dedicated interdisciplinary team and contribute to clinical handover, documentation, quality improvement and reflective practice.

About you

You will be aSpecialist Palliative Care Nurse or Registered Nurse with sound clinical judgement, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in palliative and end-of-life care.

You will have:

·        Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA

·        Nursing experience, preferably in palliative care, community nursing or a related setting

·        Strong interpersonal, communication and documentation skills

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively

·        Commitment to person-centred care, quality improvement and ongoing learning

Experience or postgraduate qualifications in palliative care will be highly regarded, but nurses with a strong interest in developing specialist palliative care skills are encouraged to apply.
