What you will do

As an expert in Data & Analytics with a focus on SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and Datasphere, the job holder will be responsible for designing, governing and operating the next generation of SAP-centric analytics platforms. In this role, you will act as a technical authority and thought partner for business, IT, and governance teams - shaping target architectures, enabling data products, and driving the transition from classic SAP BI landscapes (BW 7.50 on HANA) toward a modern, cloud‑based data platform.

• SAP Business Data Cloud & Datasphere Architect, configure, and operate SAP Datasphere as a core semantic and data modelling layer. Design and govern data products, business entities, and analytical datasets in Datasphere. Define best practices for: Data modelling (Analytical Models, Fact/Dimension views) Data access and consumption patterns Space design, transport concepts, and lifecycle management Integrate SAP Datasphere into the broader SAP Business Data Cloud ecosystem. Integration & Data Architecture Design end‑to‑end data flows across: SAP S/4HANA (ODP/CDS/Extractors) SAP BW on HANA (incl. carve‑out & decommissioning scenarios) SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Non‑SAP platforms (Snowflake, MS SQL Server, …) Define hybrid architectures combining: Virtual access vs. replication Real‑time vs. batch scenarios Ensure scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient cloud data architectures. Governance, Security & Compliance Define and enforce data governance standards in SAP Datasphere: Authorization concepts Data access policies Business semantics and metadata management Support compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR, auditability, data retention). Align with enterprise‑wide data catalog, lineage, and quality frameworks. Advanced Analytics Enablement Enable consumption of SAP Business Data Cloud data by: SAP Analytics Cloud or Power BI Data science & ML platforms Collaborate with Data Science and Advanced Analytics teams to provide curated, analytics‑ready datasets. Migration & Transformation Initiatives Lead or support: BW modernization or decommissioning Transition from classic extractors to CDS/ODP‑based sourcing Harmonization of SAP and non‑SAP analytics platforms Act as subject matter expert in transformation programs (e.g. RISE with SAP). Stakeholder & Advisory Role Consult business and IT stakeholders on analytical use cases and platform capabilities. Translate business requirements into sustainable data & analytics designs. Mentor developers and analysts; contribute to internal enablement and knowledge sharing.

What you will need

Educational qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field Fluent command of English Technical qualifications > 8 years of experience in an IT support function with strong focus on SAP Reporting & Dashboarding SAP & Data Platform Expertise Strong hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere (mandatory). Solid understanding of SAP Business Data Cloud concepts and positioning. Deep knowledge of SAP analytics data sources: SAP S/4HANA (CDS Views, ODP) SAP BW / BW on HANA Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud integration scenarios. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript is a plus. Data & Analytics Engineering Excellent data modelling skills. Strong SQL skills; understanding of performance optimization strategies. Experience with cloud data platforms and modern analytics architectures. Snowflake or Azure Data Factory is a plus. Proficiency regarding BI frontend tools for reporting and planning SAP AfO SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Microsoft Power BI is a plus. Governance & Architecture Proven experience in: Enterprise data governance Security & authorization design Metadata, lineage, and data quality concepts Ability to define platform standards and architectural guardrails.
