The Purpose of the position:

To drive the specification of OBEX’s product solutions within the construction industry. The role involves working closely with architects, designers, specifiers, and key stakeholders to position OBEX products as preferred solutions.

To lead the internal specification strategy, support the field-based specification teams, and enhance the company’s reputation for technical excellence, quality, and innovation.

Responsible for leading an internal specification team to provide expert advice and support on product specifications to ensure they meet the needs of our customers and industry standards.

This role involves working closely with the entire OBEX team to deliver the Vision statement.

Our goal is for OBEX to be the products of choice for our clients, to build relationships to the point where we can say they: ‘Know us, like us, trust us.

Industry:

OBEX specialise in suppling product to the construction industry primarily window fabricators, façade manufacturers, modular building manufacturers etc.

Key capabilities and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the Specification team have the tools to deliver high-quality technical guidance and specification documents to support clients and internal teams.
• Identify and target high-value projects to drive long-term business growth.
• Provide ideas on innovative specification solutions and compliance with industry standards.
• Relationship Management / Brand Ambassador
• Build strong, consultative relationships with architects, specifiers, and decision-makers in the construction supply chain.
• Promote OBEX’s industry accreditations, certifications, and sustainability credentials
• Technical Expertise and Support
• Team Leadership and Development
• Drive training and upskilling initiatives to improve the team’s technical knowledge and consultative skills.
• Work closely with Sales, Marketing and NPD teams to identify customer needs, develop compelling CPD presentations and technical resources, and deliver specification solutions that support business growth by converting opportunities into orders.
• Monitor trends in the construction industry, ensuring OBEX stays competitive and aligned with specification opportunities.
• Provide regular reports on performance, key wins, and areas for improvement.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance
• Ensure all specification processes adhere to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

The above responsibilities are not exhaustive and will be tracked weekly in view of best return on investment.

Qualifications:

• Construction Industry knowledge. Experience in a technical role within construction, presenting CPD’s
• Experience in a customer facing role providing technical advice.
• People skills and managing a team
• Training courses will be provided where appropriate and the candidate would be expected to be willing to accept this is to facilitate progressing within the company.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
