Specification Engineer

Salary: RM6,000 – RM9,000 + Car Allowance + Petrol & Toll + Phone Allowance + Project Conversion Incentive

Job Summary
Drive product specification at the design stage by building strong relationships with architects, consultants and developers, ensuring roofing and metal building products are specified before projects proceed to tender.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with architects, C&S consultants, quantity surveyors, developers and project owners.
• Identify and engage upcoming projects from the early design and design-development stages.
• Influence material selection and secure product specifications before tender.
• Conduct technical presentations, product briefings and CPD-style seminars for architects and consultants.
• Prepare and submit technical data sheets, specification documents, material confirmation and product approval submissions.
• Track project opportunities and maintain an updated pipeline and database of architect/consultant contacts.
• Follow up on specified projects and work closely with the sales team to convert specifications into orders.
• Provide technical advice on product selection, coating, colour, spanning, fixing details and compliance requirements.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing movements and upcoming projects.
• Provide regular project pipeline and market updates to management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building or Construction Management.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in specification, technical sales or consultative selling within building materials.
• Experience in roofing, steel building products, insulation, waterproofing or architectural finishes will be advantageous.
• Strong existing network and working relationships with architects and consultants is highly preferred.
• Confident in conducting technical presentations and engaging professional audiences.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Possess own transport and a valid driving licence.
• Willing to travel within Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Johor.
