Specification Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Specification Specialist to join Dyntek Marketing Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This role is integral to our Marketing team, where you will play a crucial part in identifying, defining and communicating detailed product and service specifications to support our sales initiatives and business growth strategy. As a Specification Specialist, you will bridge the gap between our clients' requirements and our sales team's offerings, ensuring that all specifications are accurate, comprehensive and aligned with market demands. This position sits at the heart of our commercial operations, directly contributing to our ability to win new business and establish ourselves as a trusted partner in the marketplace.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and maintaining detailed product and service specifications that accurately reflect market requirements and client needs
• Collaborating with sales teams to understand client requirements and translate them into clear, actionable specifications
• Conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform specification development and ensure our offerings remain competitive
• Creating comprehensive specification documents, technical briefs and proposal materials for new business opportunities
• Liaising with internal stakeholders including product teams, operations and management to ensure specification accuracy and feasibility
• Supporting the sales team with specification guidance during client presentations, negotiations and proposal stages
• Identifying gaps in current specifications and recommending improvements to enhance business development outcomes
• Maintaining an up-to-date library of specifications and ensuring consistency across all sales and marketing materials
• Contributing to the development of standardised specification templates and processes to improve efficiency

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in specification development, technical writing or a similar role within a sales or new business development environment
• Strong understanding of sales processes and the ability to translate client requirements into clear specifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely
• Proficiency in creating detailed technical documentation and proposal materials
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including sales, operations and product teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with proposal management or documentation software
• Knowledge of the Malaysian business market and understanding of local client requirements is advantageous
• Certification in technical writing or business development is preferred but not essential
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
