Specimen Processor I

Role Overview: The Specimen Processor I is responsible for preparing and processing laboratory specimens for diagnostic testing in a dynamic lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens according to protocols for analysis and testing
• Unpack, route, and organize specimens to designated areas
• Identify, label, pack, and ship specimens accurately
• Perform patient data entry and resolve specimen issues with proper documentation
• Meet departmental production goals and store excess samples appropriately

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED
• Comfortable handling biological specimens safely
• Accurate specimen identification and labeling skills
• Strong organizational, data entry, and attention to detail skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test
