Specimen Reception Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Specimen Reception Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming specimens, ensuring they are accurately logged, properly labelled, and efficiently processed for laboratory analysis.

Duties

• Specimen Processing: You will receive, sort, and prioritise incoming samples (e.g., blood, swabs, body fluids). Urgently tracking time-sensitive samples is critical to ensuring turnaround times
• Data Entry & Coding: You must accurately log patient demographics, clinical details, and diagnostic requests into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Pre-Analytical Testing Support: You will prepare samples for scientific analysis under strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Logistics & Distribution: You will coordinate with internal logistics departments and external courier services to unpack deliveries.

This role is a 3 months temporary full time position.
