SPED Teacher

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. Duties

• Develop and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs, including modifications for learners with developmental disabilities, autism, visual impairments, or other disabilities
• Deliver engaging instruction across core subjects such as literacy, math, early childhood education, and social skills using evidence-based strategies and adaptive teaching techniques
• Incorporate educational technology and learning tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and behavioral therapy techniques to create a safe and supportive environment
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student progress, goals, and any necessary adjustments to instruction or behavior plans
• Coordinate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, music therapists, and other specialists to support comprehensive student development
• Ensure compliance with educational laws and regulations related to special education services while maintaining accurate documentation of student progress and IEP goals

Skills

• Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, instructional modifications, and educational compliance standards
• Experience working with students with disabilities including autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, visual impairments, or other special needs
• Proficiency in classroom management techniques tailored for students with behavioral health challenges or behavioral health needs
• Skilled in curriculum development for diverse learners across early childhood to elementary levels
• Ability to utilize educational technology tools effectively for lesson planning and instructional delivery
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external specialists
• Experience implementing behavioral therapy approaches such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) or social skills training
• Familiarity with assessment tools including standardized testing and progress monitoring methods
• Knowledge of early intervention strategies and preschool education best practices
• Capable of providing mentorship and guidance to fellow educators while fostering a collaborative team environment

Pay: $76,846.00 - $82,229.00 per year
