SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Westfield Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for an open Speech and Language Pathologist position for the 2026-2027 school year.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the authorized administrators shall:

• Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
• Provide a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and hearing handicapped children.
• Provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing and language impairments upon request.
• Provide appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language handicaps.
• Confer with principals, teachers and parents frequently regarding the student's progress.
• Provide in-service education and serve as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech improvement.
• Keep and maintain thorough pertinent records.
• Assist in screening procedures.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of schools.

REPORTS TO:
Building Principal

The salary and terms of employment will be commensurate with the Westfield Public Schools Unit A collective bargaining agreement. Salary placement will be based on the information contained in the application as submitted.
If hired, qualified applicants may receive a five thousand dollar ($5,000.00) hiring bonus.

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.
This position is subject to funding.
