About the position

Part Time / Full time (PRN also available) SLPA is needed for a pediatric outpatient clinic in the San Antonio Medical Center area. Monday-Thursday coverage needed from 3-7, though all applicants with availability during those times are encouraged to apply as we will work around your schedule. We recently added additional therapy rooms to our outpatient clinic; with plans for the position to eventually transition to a full-time role, or split between two part-times.

Owned and operated by a Speech & Language Pathologist, we've provided pediatric OT/PT/ST therapy at our pediatric outpatient clinic and schools since our doors opened. We are a very small, Family-oriented team who cares about the individual. The majority of our therapists have worked with us for several decades because of this. We will work with you on getting the hours you're looking for, while also maintaining flexibility knowing that external situations do not wait for gaps in ones schedule. We pride ourselves on providing individualized treatment for all patients and families in one-on-one settings, treating them as family when we consider what is best for them.

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Privdes treatments to patients as directed by the Speech Therapist
• Records Treatments provided in EMR system.
• Instructs families and caregivers in maintenance programs as directed by the Speech Therapist.
• Communicates with supervisor and other interdisciplinary team members regarding patients progress, problems, and plans.
• Participates in patient care conferences and other care related meetings
• Maintains patience confidence and adheres to HIPPA regulations regarding PHI.
• Protects patients and associates by adhering to facility infection-control policies and protocols.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with facility and department procedures, rules, and regulations
• Assists with cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas and department.
• Willingness to prepare for individualized treatments by using office equipment to print, laminate, etc materials to be used in treatment when other staff is unavailable to assist.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without Aid of Mechanical Devices)

• Mobility, reaching, bending, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, fine hand coordination
• Ability to read and write, and to see and hear.
• Ability to communicate with patients, family members, caregivers, guardians, or other personnel
• Ability to remain calm under stress, particularly when working with children.

Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
