Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Overview

As a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, you’ll help children and other clients build communication skills by carrying out speech-language therapy plans under the direction of a licensed speech-language pathologist. You’ll support speech and language goals across settings, including schools, pediatric services, early intervention, and telehealth, as applicable.

Duties

• Implement assigned speech-language therapy activities and document client progress according to the supervising clinician’s direction.
• Support clients with speech disorders and language disorders, including children and individuals with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly with clients, families, students, and the supervising speech-language pathologist about therapy activities and observations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated care; follow applicable Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in school settings.
• Assist with in-person or telehealth therapy sessions as assigned, following established procedures.

Qualifications

• Required qualifications should align with applicable state requirements for speech-language pathology assistants and the role’s supervision structure.
• Relevant experience may include speech therapy, pediatrics, acute care, school settings, early intervention, working with children or students, and supporting individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of speech-language pathology, child language development, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is valuable.
• Strong client communication and collaboration skills are important; bilingual ability is a plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour
