About Rich Health Solutions
Rich Health Solutions provides Therapeutic Consultation services through Virginia's Medicaid Developmental Disability Waiver programs. We are a growing multidisciplinary team of Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Behavior Analysts, and Recreation Therapists supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.
Our approach is practical and person-centered. Rather than focusing solely on traditional clinic-based treatment, our clinicians work with individuals, families, caregivers, residential providers, day support staff, and other members of the support team to develop strategies that can be incorporated into everyday routines and environments.
Position Overview
Rich Health Solutions is seeking a Virginia-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) to join our growing team in the Hampton Roads area.
This is a part-time position with a developing caseload. Hours will initially vary based on referrals and caseload development, with the opportunity to ramp up to approximately 30–35 hours per week as the clinician's caseload grows. This is a strong opportunity for an SLP interested in building a substantial, flexible caseload while maintaining independence over their weekly schedule.
The position provides consultation-based speech-language services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving Virginia Medicaid Waiver services. The SLP evaluates functional communication needs, develops individualized recommendations and strategies, provides caregiver and staff education, and collaborates with the individual's interdisciplinary support team.
Services are primarily provided in individuals' homes, day support programs, residential settings, and community environments. Telehealth may also be utilized when appropriate.
Because our clinicians manage their own caseloads and coordinate visits directly with the individuals and teams they support, strong communication, organization, follow-through, and independent time management are essential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech-language and functional communication assessments.
- Identify communication needs affecting independence, safety, relationships, and participation in daily activities.
- Develop individualized recommendations, communication strategies, and supports that can be incorporated into everyday routines.
- Provide consultation, education, and coaching to individuals, families, caregivers, residential providers, and support staff.
- Address speech, language, cognitive-communication, social/pragmatic communication, AAC, and feeding/swallowing concerns within the clinician's scope of practice.
- Recommend communication supports, visual systems, environmental modifications, and assistive technology when appropriate.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Behavior Analysts, Recreation Therapists, Support Coordinators, caregivers, and other members of the individual's support team.
- Communicate directly with clients, families, caregivers, and providers to coordinate and schedule visits.
- Independently organize and manage an assigned caseload and weekly schedule.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and the Rich Health Solutions administrative and clinical teams.
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and within required timelines.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration, case coordination, and team meetings as needed.
- Maintain compliance with applicable Virginia Medicaid Waiver and Rich Health Solutions documentation and service requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Virginia Speech-Language Pathologist license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage a caseload, schedule appointments, and meet documentation requirements.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel to client homes and community locations throughout Portsmouth, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Experience with AAC and functional communication.
- Experience providing caregiver or staff consultation and training.
- Experience with Virginia Medicaid Waiver services or other home- and community-based services.
- Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Who We're Looking For

This includes communicating with clients and caregivers, arranging visits, managing their schedule, completing documentation on time, and reaching out to the clinical or administrative team when support is needed.
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting to know individuals in their real-world environments and developing practical solutions that make a meaningful difference in everyday life.
