About the Role

Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Rehabilitation Services team. In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population.

What You’ll Do

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals
• Provide therapy services to restore function and prevent disability
• Conduct swallowing assessments (including dysphagia evaluations) and recommend appropriate dietary modifications
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, progress, and home exercises
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the medical record
• Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of therapy services
• Contribute to departmental quality improvement and performance initiatives
• Participate in infection control, safety, and continuing education programs
• Support department operations and administrative tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current Texas licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Current BLS certification required
• Strong knowledge of speech/language pathology principles and clinical practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
