Speech-Language Pathologist

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Part-Time / PRN (2+ hrs/week) – Arlington, VA

Massis Speech & Language PLLC is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist for a small pediatric caseload in Arlington, VA. The immediate need is approximately 2 hours per week providing in-home therapy to two established pediatric clients, with the opportunity to take on additional clients if desired.

We are looking for an SLP who is knowledgeable, creative, and adaptable, with strong experience supporting autistic children across a range of speech, language, and communication needs.

Schedule & Location

• In-home services in Arlington, VA
• Approximately 2 hours/week to start
• After-school hours
• Thursday availability strongly preferred
• Monday, Friday, or weekend scheduling also available
• Opportunity to add additional clients if desired

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized speech-language therapy to pediatric clients
• Develop and implement evidence-informed treatment based on each child’s individual communication profile, clinical needs, and established goals
• Effectively use both structured/direct teaching and naturalistic or play-based approaches depending on the child, skill being targeted, and response to intervention
• Adjust treatment creatively based on engagement, regulation, progress, and clinical observations
• Collaborate closely with parents/caregivers while using clinical judgment to guide treatment and recommendations
• Clearly and confidently explain treatment approaches, clinical rationale, progress, and recommendations to families
• Provide practical strategies to support generalization and carryover outside of therapy
• Collaborate with other professionals as appropriate
• Complete timely session documentation

Qualifications

• Active Virginia SLP license
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
• Experience working with autistic children across a range of communication profiles
• Strong knowledge of pediatric receptive/expressive language and functional communication
• Ability to establish strong rapport with children and families
• Strong clinical reasoning and ability to individualize and modify treatment approaches
• Comfortable collaborating closely with involved caregivers, including discussing parent concerns and feedback while providing clear clinical guidance
• Reliable, communicative, and able to work independently
• Reliable transportation for in-home services

Preferred Experience

• Gestalt language processing and/or NLA-informed intervention
• AAC and multimodal communication, including speech, signs, gestures, and visual supports
• Speech sound disorders/articulation and intelligibility
• Supporting regulation, transitions, and varying levels of engagement during therapy
• Caregiver coaching and parent education
• Experience balancing structured skill-building with flexible, child-centered intervention

Compensation

Up to $80/hour, based on experience.
