Join our team at Imperial Healthcare Center, a 99-bed skilled nursing facility in La Mirada, California, as a part-time licensed Speech Language Pathologist. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and treating residents with communication and swallowing disorders to improve their quality of life and functional abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate residents' communication and swallowing abilities using standardized assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, resident goals, and physician orders
• Provide skilled speech therapy interventions, including articulation and language therapy, cognitive-communication therapy, and swallowing therapy
• Monitor and document resident progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Communicate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes for residents
• Educate residents and family members on speech therapy goals, treatment plans, and home exercise programs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of speech therapy services provided
• Participate in team meetings, in-service education, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain current knowledge of speech therapy practice and relevant regulations

Qualifications:

• Current license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of California
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility
• Knowledge of current speech therapy practice standards and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficient in using electronic medical records and other healthcare software
