What they need

About Ascend

Join our Growing Allied Health Team!

We love delivering quality therapy and support work in the community, and helping all people (and our staff) live meaningful lives.

We're looking for a therapist with ideally between 2 to 4 years of experience who is keen to help deliver NDIS community therapy in Perth.

Coaching Role Option

All our therapists have an opportunity (if they're interested) to take on a key-worker role, where they replace a small portion of their caseload to regularly help to coach and supervise regular small cohorts of allied health placement students and student support workers. We love collaborating with universities to provide quality student learning experiences.

Culture

We aim for a best of both worlds approach, providing top notch services while minimising therapist burnout - long term we aim for caseloads close together, and a varied caseload that doesn't have too much of one thing.

We're looking for therapists who get a kick out of helping people to achieve their goals and live a great life (whether they're aged 5 or 105), and who have great ideas and suggestions to help improve our team and how we do things. If you love healthcare, enjoy innovating, and/or want to help coach university students as well, you'll be a great fit.

The two primary asks we have of our staff are that they wish to help people, and are keen to learn. We love to hire friendly and approachable staff so you can be assured our staff are very supportive and approachable

Perth City Hub

Our therapists tend to be based in locations closer to their home but you'll be accessing our Perth City Hub for training and collaboration, and free city parking / reserved bays for our therapists.

Workplace Model

You can choose to work between 4 (part-time) or 5 (full time) days per week according to your preference, with work occurring in our Perth Office (access any time, parking is free or reimbursed), in the community, and from Home as well. We aim for at least 1 day in the office per week to facilitate collaboration, trainings, supervision and to spend some time with colleagues.

For office and admin work, we're lucky to have a great spot fairly central in Perth with fairy accessible parking. The office is open plan and well lit - perfect for collaborating - and there's a tonne of coffee and lunch options in the area.

Wages

We aim to be as competitive as possible with our salary and bonuses.

With a standard caseload, you can expect the following pay:

$85,000 Base Pay

+$10,000 travel allowance (varies with caseload, but this is the average amount)

+$10,000 Commission (again, variable this will be received if seeing approx 4 people a day).

+$1,000 leave loading

So a total of $106,000 before super, and then:

  • $11,500 Superannuation.

Extra Leave

At a minimum:

20 Days Annual Leave

10 Days Paid Personal and Carer’s Leave

  • 4 Days Paid Wellness Days

  • 1 Day Birthday Leave

PD and Resource Budget

$2000 annual PD budget, some of which can be allocated to personal resources as well

(All assessments and vital / shared resources are purchased by us, of course!)

Workload

Our therapists aim for 3 to 4 community sessions a day, which gives our therapists the chance to aim for the quality of services they want to provide, and not feel so rushed that they compromise therapeutic outcomes, as well as time to supervise allied health student support workers.

Caseload

Caseload wise, the whole idea is for our therapists to be able to do two things, help, and also grow and develop their skills. This means a caseload that you know how to help, with a small portion who can challenge you just enough to keep growing too.

Matching clients well with our therapists based on areas of competency and safety are a big priority for us.

Schedule:

Schedule and manage your caseload according to what works. Your Senior supervisor and the rest of the team are here to help with this. The best appointment times and locations are ones which work for both the therapist and the client (as well as making sure the therapist feels confident they can help).

Therapist Training Support Program

Professional Supervision (OR peer learning) according to your needs. Yearly each therapist gets plenty of training opportunities, including attending (including virtually if necessary)

1:1 Support with a senior supervisor (no matter what level of experience you are) - weekly for new graduates, or as needed for non-new graduate therapists

Regular Multi-disc Health Professional Training

Leadership & Management Training Opportunities

Quarterly Collaborative Support Work Trainings

Career Pathway Options and Milestones

On-call access to our management team and therapists whenever you need

Other offers great for you!
