Speech Pathologist

About Lionheart The Lionheart School is a special education program serving neurodiverse students ages 5-21. Grounded in the DIR®/Floortime model, we build every learning experience around each child’s individual developmental profile and the relationships that help them grow. We’re looking for a speech-language pathologist who believes communication flourishes through connection, not just drills.

The Role This isn’t a traditional pull-out position. Our SLP works across the whole school day, partnering with students one-on-one, in small groups, and alongside teachers in the classroom. You’ll help communication goals come to life in real interactions, wherever learning happens.

What You’ll Do

• Provide individual therapy tailored to each student’s sensory, motor, language, and relational profile
• Push into classrooms to support communication during instruction and daily routines
• Collaborate with teachers and staff so strategies carry through the day
• Conduct assessments, write goals, and maintain documentation and progress reports
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team with OT, reading support, and instructional staff, and communicate with families

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Georgia SLP license and ASHA CCC (or CF eligible)
• Experience with autistic and neurodiverse students, ideally in school settings
• DIR®/Floortime training or a strong interest in relationship-based, developmental approaches
• Comfort with flexibility, co-treatment, and working in a dynamic, non-clinical environment
• Warmth, playfulness, and a genuinely collaborative spirit
• Knowledge of AAC device usage is a plus

Schedule: Part-time; goal is to have someone at least 3 5-hour days a week. Days are negotiable.
