What they need

Speech Therapist

The Pathway School | Jeffersonville, PA
10-Month School Year | Monday–Friday | 7.5 hours/day

At The Pathway School, speech therapy is about much more than working on communication goals. It’s about helping students find their voice, build confidence, connect with others, and develop skills they can use in school, at home, and in their communities.

Located on a beautiful 12-acre campus in Jeffersonville, PA, The Pathway School is a nonprofit special education school serving students ages 5–21 (grades K–12+) from more than 50 regional school districts and charter schools. Our students have a range of needs, including autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional and behavioral challenges, and other neurological differences.

Our approach is highly collaborative and student-centered. Teachers, therapists, behavior specialists, administrators, and families work together to create meaningful opportunities for students to learn, communicate, grow, and become as independent as possible.

Why Pathway?

You’ll be part of a team where your ideas matter and collaboration happens every day. We value professionals who are curious, creative, compassionate, and excited to think beyond the traditional classroom or therapy room.

At Pathway, we offer:

  • An empowering and supportive organizational culture
  • A highly collaborative multidisciplinary team
  • Opportunities to be creative and innovative in your clinical practice
  • Professional development and ongoing learning opportunities
  • A strong focus on employee recognition and appreciation

  • Provide direct and consultative speech and language services in accordance with students’ IEPs.
  • Conduct screenings and formal and informal assessments and review relevant diagnostic information.

  • Develop measurable speech and language goals and objectives and actively participate in the IEP process.
  • Use evidence-based intervention strategies and adjust services based on student response and progress.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, behavior specialists, related service providers, families, and outside professionals.
  • Provide practical communication strategies and consultation to staff and families so students can use their skills across environments.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other student support activities.
  • Maintain accurate student records, evaluations, progress reports, and service documentation.
  • Stay current with professional standards, research, licensure requirements, and best practices in speech-language services.
  • Bring creativity, flexibility, and a student-first mindset to your work each day.
