Job Description

Metro Home Health is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech Therapist (ST) to provide home health speech therapy services to patients in their homes. The ideal candidate will help patients improve communication, swallowing function, and other speech-language-related abilities within the therapist's professional scope of practice.

This position includes conducting speech therapy evaluations and completing discharge visits as assigned. Follow-up visit compensation will be confirmed with the agency before accepting assignments.

Compensation Rates

• Evaluation: $110 per visit
• Discharge: $80 per visit

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech-language evaluations to assess communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing-related needs, as appropriate.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with the established plan of care.
• Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions to address identified speech, language, communication, or swallowing goals.
• Educate patients and caregivers on recommended strategies and techniques.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate relevant changes to the physician and interdisciplinary care team, as appropriate.
• Complete accurate and timely evaluation, treatment, and discharge documentation for assigned visits.
• Follow applicable professional standards, patient privacy requirements, infection prevention practices, and agency procedures.

Qualifications

• Current California license or credentials appropriate for the assigned speech-language pathology services.
• Required education and qualifications for the applicable California professional credential.
• Home health experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to assigned patients' homes.
• Ability to complete agency onboarding and required compliance documentation.

• San Fernando Valley and surrounding communities
• Bakersfield and Kern County
• Lancaster, Palmdale, and Antelope Valley
• Santa Clarita Valley
• Los Angeles communities
• Hesperia and surrounding High Desert areas
• Cerritos and nearby Southeast Los Angeles County communities
• Murrieta and surrounding Southwest Riverside County communities
• Trabuco Canyon and nearby Orange County communities

Work Arrangement

The work arrangement and payment terms will be discussed during recruitment and must comply with applicable California requirements. Visit assignments depend on patient needs and service-area availability.
