Speech Therapist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to provide specialized services to adults with disabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans that support communication and swallowing needs. This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including meeting the requirements set forth by the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). The Speech Therapist will play a vital role in enhancing clients' quality of life through effective speech and language therapy interventions.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of adults with disabilities to identify speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
• Develop and implement personalized therapy plans aligned with individual goals and DDD requirements.
• Provide direct therapy sessions to improve communication skills, including speech clarity, language comprehension, and social communication.
• Monitor progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, caregivers, and family members to support holistic care approaches.
• Document therapy sessions, progress notes, and compliance reports accurately in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
• Ensure all services meet the standards required by the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
• Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology through ongoing professional development.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for clients during all interactions.

Qualifications

• A valid license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist or Speech Therapist.
• Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience working with adults with disabilities is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of DDD requirements and regulations related to providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
• Excellent documentation skills for maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
