We are seeking a passionate, reliable and motivated Speech Therapist to join our team as a subcontractor. This is a mobile role, providing services to NDIS participants in their homes and community settings across our service areas.

This opportunity is ideal for a therapist seeking flexibility and independence while working collaboratively with an established NDIS provider to make a meaningful difference in participants' lives.

About the Role

As a Speech Therapist, you will work with NDIS participants to support their speech, language, communication and social interaction needs. You will provide individualised therapy and practical strategies to help participants improve their communication skills and participate more confidently in everyday activities.

You will collaborate with participants, families, support coordinators, support workers and other professionals to ensure services are tailored to each participant's needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess participants' speech, language and communication needs.
  • Develop and deliver individualised therapy plans aligned with participants' goals.
  • Support the development of expressive and receptive language skills, speech clarity and functional communication.
  • Assist participants with social communication and everyday communication strategies.
  • Recommend and support appropriate communication aids and alternative communication methods where required.
  • Provide guidance to families and support workers to encourage consistent communication strategies.
  • Monitor progress and adjust therapy approaches to meet participants' changing needs.
  • Prepare professional reports, progress notes and recommendations relevant to participants' NDIS goals.
  • Work collaboratively with support coordinators, families and other allied health professionals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with applicable professional standards and NDIS requirements.
  • Travel to participants' homes and community settings within agreed service areas.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in Speech Therapy or Speech Pathology.
  • Appropriate professional credentials for your qualifications and scope of practice.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and/or NDIS participants (highly desirable).
  • A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • The ability to travel to participants' homes and community locations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A compassionate, person-centred approach to therapy.
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one where required.
  • Appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance for your subcontracting arrangement.

What We Offer

  • Flexible subcontracting opportunities.
  • The ability to negotiate your availability and service locations.
  • Opportunities to work with a diverse range of NDIS participants.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Opportunities to build professional relationships with participants, families and other service providers.
  • Competitive remuneration based on experience, services provided and the agreed subcontracting arrangement.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
