SpeechLanguage Pathologist/SLP

Job Summary:

Provides professional patient care and practices in Speech‐Language Pathology by evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting treatment. Diagnoses speech, language, cognitive, vocal, and swallowing disorders by selecting, administering, and interpreting appropriate testing measures. Evaluates and treats patients per the order from the physician and provides treatment using a variety of therapeutic procedures and assistive devices intended to maximize functional potential in all areas of the patient's life. Determines the need for referral to other specialists and agencies. Develops and implements an individualized treatment plan based on patient needs and containing achievable functional goals. Revises treatment plans, as needed, throughout the treatment process. Establishes and instructs patients, families, and other caregivers in therapeutic home exercise programs to be continued following discharge. Completes the appropriate documentation and billing in a timely manner. All care is provided in accordance with the philosophy and essential functions of the hospital, the rehabilitation department, The Joint Commission, State Professional Licensing Agency, and the American Speech‐Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).
