Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SPM Design Engineer with strong knowledge of Special Purpose Machine design, Jigs & Fixtures, SolidWorks, and Cavity Contact Design. The candidate should be capable of developing mechanical designs, preparing detailed engineering drawings, and coordinating with production and assembly teams to ensure successful machine development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPM) based on customer requirements.
• Create and modify Jigs, Fixtures, and tooling designs for manufacturing and assembly applications.
• Use SolidWorks for 3D modelling, part design, assembly design, and detailed 2D drawings.
• Handle Cavity Contact Design and related tooling or fixture development as per project requirements.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Select suitable mechanical components, materials, and standard parts for machine design.
• Check design feasibility, dimensions, tolerances, and clearances before releasing drawings.
• Coordinate with production, machining, fabrication, and assembly teams during project execution.
• Modify existing designs based on customer feedback and manufacturing requirements.
• Identify and resolve design-related issues during machine assembly and commissioning.
• Ensure designs meet quality standards, functional requirements, and project timelines.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks.
• Experience in SPM machine design and mechanical automation.
• Practical experience in Jigs & Fixtures Design.
• Experience in Cavity Contact Design.
• Knowledge of 3D modelling, 2D drafting, and assembly drawings.
• Understanding of GD&T, tolerances, fits, and engineering standards.
• Knowledge of mechanical components such as bearings, guideways, cylinders, sensors mounting arrangements, and fasteners.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.

Candidate Requirements

• Must have relevant hands-on experience as an SPM Design Engineer.
• Freshers are not eligible; only experienced candidates should apply.
• Should have good technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Must be capable of handling design activities independently.
• Good communication and coordination skills are preferred.
