Sports Massage Therapist

Job Summary

The Sports Massage Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic and sports massage services to clients with musculoskeletal concerns, sports-related injuries, muscle tension, and physical activity-related conditions. The position works closely with the Chiropractor and Physical Therapists to support patient recovery, mobility, pain management, and overall physical function. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in anatomy and massage techniques, compassionate, professional, and committed to providing safe and quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sports and therapeutic massage based on the patient’s condition, treatment goals, and recommendations of the Chiropractor or Physical Therapist.
• Provide problem-focused massage to address muscle tension, soreness, restricted mobility, and other musculoskeletal concerns.
• Support patients undergoing chiropractic and physical therapy treatment as part of an integrated approach to patient care.
• Coordinate with the Chiropractor and Physical Therapists regarding patient progress, treatment response, and relevant observations.
• Apply appropriate massage techniques to assist with muscle recovery, flexibility, mobility, and physical performance.
• Monitor the patient’s response to treatment and promptly report any concerns or unusual findings to the appropriate healthcare professional.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient treatment records and documentation.
• Provide appropriate post-treatment care instructions within the scope of practice.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment area.
• Assist the clinic team in other patient-care or operational activities when needed, including front desk support, scheduling, and other clinic tasks.
• Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Training or certification in Sports Massage, Therapeutic Massage, or a related field is preferred.
• DOH license or relevant certification is an advantage.
• Background in Physical Therapy, Nursing, Sports Science, or a related healthcare field is an advantage.
• Clinical experience, particularly in a chiropractic, physical therapy, rehabilitation, sports, or wellness setting, is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy, musculoskeletal conditions, and therapeutic massage techniques.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Compassionate and genuinely committed to helping patients improve their condition and overall well-being.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maintains a professional demeanor and patient-focused approach at all times.
• Ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Willingness to assist in other areas of the clinic when needed.
