Spray operator and general farm labourer

About Us
J & D Adolph Ltd is a well-established kumara-growing and lamb-finishing operation located just 10 minutes from Dargaville town center. We farm 400 acres, producing red, purple, and beauregard kumara varieties and finishing around 2,200 lambs during winter. Our business thrives on teamwork, employing over 35 local and international staff during peak season.

Key Responsibilities
Operate tractors and a range of implements, including a sophisticated sprayer with electro-hydraulic functions.
Assist in plant propagation bed construction, groundwork, irrigation, and harvest operations.
Supervise and support a team of workers from diverse backgrounds.
Conduct machinery maintenance, repairs, and problem diagnostics.
Perform general farm work, including fencing and sheep care.
Participate and maintain health and safety protocols, NZGAP standards and LEAN farm management processes.

Skills & Attributes:
Proven experience with tractor operation and machinery use.
Good communication skills to manage diverse teams effectively.
Strong time management, delegation, and prioritization abilities.
Problem-solving skills and a willingness to take responsibility.
Ability to work outside standard hours, including weekends, as needed.
Commitment to health and safety practices, including passing drug tests.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
Grow Safe Certificate and prior spraying experience would be optimal.
Machinery repair and maintenance knowledge, including metalwork/basic welding.
Supervisory experience with team management capabilities.
Interest in sheep care and animal welfare.
